buying a macbook in indonesia please help

Hi all i'm an italian student, me also apple fan

In past days i've contacted a wholesaler from indonesia, tomorrow i have
to pay 700 USD for a macbook 17 inch delivery.

The problem is that your territory there are a lot of scam-based
society and i've fear to lose all my money.

Could you please help me knowing if i can trust in this indonesian society?

I just trying to analize your problem here. in my opinion there's some point that i really doubt if it was true information.

it could be faked address with the prepaid phone number. scam like this you should aware of. make sure you know the bank account number, the bank name and the name of the recepient. u can ask the seller about it.

if they asked you to pay using egold , western union or anything others than international bank wire transfer. just cancelled the order.

for wire transfer you must check the legimate address,phone number,name of the seller. we will help you out if you wish.

that's my opinion.. ok then have a healty and safe trading

no more scam since i hate scam. well i've been scammed by someone on ebay before.

oh yeah one more thing. dont trip by lowest price they offer. sometimes scammer offer pricing below standard ( to good to be true )

and second things there's no such thing as macbook 17". apple only released macbook with size of 13" so if i'm not mistaken that's advertisement that you mention above it could be scam if the seller is not mistyping , just be carefull :) better think safe than sorry later, right?

Karena Tertarik dengan kehebatan Mac, setelah bertahun-tahun pakai Window$ OS, saya putuskan membeli MacBook pada bulan Agustus lalu untuk istri saya. Ternyata product yang saya beli dari Toko yang "Kurang Bertanggung Jawab ini" (iSTORE POIN SQUARE LEBAK BULUS) termasuk salah satu dari 1648 MacBook yang mempunyai masalah RSS. Setelah 2 Bulan bolak balik kembali ke iStore (yang katanya juga sudah dibawa ke Apple Centre), masih tidak selesai juga masalah nya. Akhir nya saya bawa sendiri ke Teman saya di Istidata, baru bisa selesai. TAPI sekarang (1 bulan sembuh) saya punya masalah baru lagi. CD yang saya masukan kedalam disk drive tidak bisa keluar. Kemudian saya kembalikan lagi ke iSTORE, ternyata toko itu minta waktu 2 hari untuk hanya "mengeluarkan CD dari disk drive". Saya putuskan untuk membawa nya ketempat lain saja. Setelah kembali kerumah, saya nyalakan komputer saya, ternyata komputer tersebut malah tidak berfungsi. Komputer ON, tapi layar Gray (Kosong). Entah apa yang dikerjakan di TOKO iSTORE itu, Macbook saya malah tambah parah. Pengalaman pertama pakai Mac sangat tidak menyenangkan sekali, ditambah dengan Toko iStore yang kelihatan nya profesional, ternyata hanya toko biasa saja yang tidak mengerti apa2. Saya berfikir, ternyata Window$ (walaupun banyak virus yang mengganggu) tetap lebih baik dari Mac. Segala permasalahan dapat dikerjakan dengan mudah. Hidup ctrl+alt+del.........

hayaa.. bandel sih kan udah gw saranin buat bawa tuh macbook ke ibox puri kuningan aja temuin tuh bos razak . pasti beres dah masalahnya. beliau udah biasa nanganin masalah yg model kaya gitu tuh pada macbook. untuk macbook generasi pertama masalah rss kayaknya udah gak heran lagi deh. tapi bukan berarti ngak bisa di benerin. di jamin dah puas. gw juga salah satu pelanggan setianya bos razak ibox tuh. puas tuh gw mah dia.

duh please jangan sebut kata jendela di sini gw rada alergi nih.jujur aja selama gw pake mac belom pernah tuh kena masalah yang akhirnya gw bisa pindah lagi ke jendela. no way. udah cinta mati ma mac. biar gimanapun pasti tetep gw belain pake mac. malah sekarang di rumah bersih dari jendela. :D

moral of the story: lain kali kalo mo beli mac liat liat dulu dong bos.. baca review dulu kek.. jangan terbawa napsu main beli aja :) akibatnya nyesel sendiri kan.yang susah siapa coba hayo. toko bagus belom tentu ada jaminan service nya ok. tapi kriteria toko yang bagus itu adalah toko yang jual apple dan juga nyediain apple service center itu baru oke.jadi bukan hanya jual tapi juga melayanin after sales nya. maaf yah kalo ada pihak yang tersindir. tapi itu kenyataannya kan. semoga ini bisa jadi masukan buat para penjual apple.

emang sih garansi apple berlaku di mana aja asal situ beli dii apple reseller asli nya apple sih pasti di jamin bisa di claim garansinya. kalo rusak repot? ngak juga ahh.

tinggal pilih aja mo kemana. kemana? ibox bisa, apple service indonesia bisa atau apple reseller lainnnya yang juga nyediain service center.

mo benerin di luar negri langsung juga bisa selama masih berlaku masa garansi nya ngak usah kuatir lah.

I think you need to be really careful. It might be true that mac's are cheaper in indonesia, but it will not be that much cheaper. If you insist to buy a mac from indonesia, try to check out www.bhinneka.com or www.indowebstore.com. I have had a good experience with one of the two stores. Just a tip, if you want to transfer the money, always transfer the money to the company,do not ever transfer your money to a person name.
